St. Francis and the Wolf

This work depicts St Francis at the moment he encounters the wolf of Gubbio, a scene that is rare in art history but rich in meaning. In a forest enveloped in a mysterious and peaceful light, the saint bends towards the animal in a gesture of dialogue and compassion. It is a moment of profound humanity, where fear is transformed into understanding. For me, it is a particularly touching painting: the model is my brother Marco, to whom I dedicate this work, and whom I was fortunate enough to portray before he passed away.
