I strive to create art that elevates the spirit, not just the senses.
FABIO CUFFARI
I love to draw and paint.
In truth, I’ve been completely swept away by painting and drawing — to the point that they’ve become my main occupation.
I also have a deep passion for teaching. I love sharing my experience with others and showing them that anyone can do anything — they just need to know how.
Fabio Cuffari Dialley was born in August 1982 among the mountains of the Aosta Valley.
Always fascinated by the arts in all their forms, he began drawing and painting as a child. Encouraged and supported by his family, he attended art school and graduated in 2001.
The following years were marked by a powerful encounter with the world of music, which swept him away and led him to perform professionally throughout Italy. These extended journeys across the country created a deep separation from his native land, but also offered a unique opportunity to connect with the rich cultural and social fabric of a nation steeped in beauty and artistic heritage.
In 2012, he returned to drawing and painting, rediscovering the pleasure of releasing long-held energy. He also found a new form of expression and storytelling through teaching artistic techniques. In these years, he worked on several commissioned murals for municipalities, schools, prisons, and other institutions.
In 2014, he founded Associazione Alfa, which continues to promote artistic and cultural initiatives both in his region and across Italy.
2016 marked a turning point with the discovery of the technique that would distinguish him in the Italian art scene: pastel painting. This medium captivated him instantly and led him to refine his skills to a professional level, eventually winning numerous prestigious national and international awards.
In 2021, after accepting a commission for five sacred pastel paintings for the parish of Sant’Antonio Abate in Valtournenche (AO), he developed a profound interest in sacred art, finding in it a new source of inspiration and fulfillment.
He has exhibited his works in major international and national art shows, including the 60th Reina Sofia International Prize for Painting and Sculpture in Madrid, the Allied Artists of America exhibition at the Butler Institute of American Art in the United States—where he won the Gold Medal for Best Pastel Work—and the Chianciano Biennale of Contemporary Art in 2024, where he received First Prize for his piece Pietà. He was also invited to represent Italy, guest of honor, at the 7th International Pastel Biennale in Oviedo, Spain.
In April 2024, a collaboration with the luxury perfume brand Xerjoff led to an exclusive exhibition at the National Museum of the Risorgimento in Turin, as part of the multisensory show Sacrum et Perfumum, where his sacred paintings were paired with the fragrances of the renowned Turin-based maison.
His high level of technical skill and theoretical knowledge of the pastel medium has made him a sought-after instructor, and he teaches drawing and painting courses throughout Italy with excellent results.
In addition to his visual art and music careers, Fabio has also embraced the literary world. In 2019, he published Eroici dodici ore, the first collection of palindromic poems in Italy.
The artist currently lives and works in Aosta.
