Pietà

In the painting of the Pietà, the intense story of a human drama unfolds, strongly intertwined with the sacredness of religious iconography. The figures of Mary and Jesus, personified by my mother and my brother, illuminated by divine light, are inserted into a triangular composition that recalls the celestial presence in the earthly world. In the background there is an olive tree, symbol of rebirth, and ancient ruins, symbol of the decadence of Humanity and our World. Also in this painting are depicted a fragment of a cross and a nail, witnesses of the Crucifixion, creating a strong symbolic bond with the painting of Saint Joseph with the Child.
